HARP 2.0

What is HARP 2.0?

Underwater on your mortgage?  HARP 2.0 can help! The Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) is designed to assist homeowners refinance their mortgages, even if they owe more than the home's current value.

The primary expectation for the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP 2.0) is that refinancing will put responsible borrowers in a better position by reducing their monthly principal and interest payments, reducing their interest rate, reducing the amortization period, or moving them from a more risky loan structure (such as an interest-only mortgage or a short-term ARM) to a more stable product (such as a fixed-rate mortgage).

HARP 2.0 is expected to have a much larger impact than the first version of HARP.  The original program was launched in December, 2009 and has helped over 900,000 US families. The new program is designed to help even more American homeowners.
